Friday movies - love, compassion or religion?! - viewers' choice!!

Let's get together Friday evening for a movie night! I'm proposing a viewers' choice evening, from three well-rated movies/themes/cities.... Option 1: the love in Helsinki option We could see "Fallen Leaves", the 2023 fiction from Aki Kaurismäki, starting 6:20pm at the VIFF Centre. https://viff.org/whats-on/fallen-leaves/ Option 2: the compassion in Toronto option Alternatively we could view "Someone Lives Here", the 2023 documentary from Zachary Russell, starting 6:40pm at the VIFF Centre. https://viff.org/whats-on/someone-lives-here/ Option 3: the religion in New York option Lastly, we could rediscover pre-disneyfied Times Square in "The Gods of Times Square", the 1999 documentary from Richard Sandler (who will be present for a post-screening discussion), starting 7:00pm at the Cinematheque. https://thecinematheque.ca/films/2023/the-gods-of-times-square Food for thought. Join us if you can. Voice your movie preference in the comments below. Movie choice, meeting time and place, to be confirmed Thursday based on prevailing opinion... After the screening, we'll find a spot nearby to get something to drink or eat and chat about the movie. I hope you can make it! :) James

Yes I will be there

All good choices! I lean towards Gods of Times Square, but would like to see all of them. One of my favourite TV productions is David Simon's fictional "The Deuce" (slang for 42nd St/Times Square)on HBO and it deals with the same issue.

Definitely ready for a film. I've seen Fallen Leaves so 2) or 3) would work for me.

As Laara has already seen Fallen Leaves, let's go with Richard's choice, The Gods of Times Square.
