Sexual Morality

Certain events made getting a description up earlier a little difficult, but better late than never, amirite? Sex is quite a tricky topic to discuss in our society, puritans that we are. We do our best to normalize discussion of it (at least some of us do), which is important since most of us are interested in having sex and not in having problems. For some, however, those problems are not just a natural consequence of sexual activity, they are the correct consequence. For some reason, there is a group of humans that is sure that humanity is meant to suffer and any attempt to relieve suffering is not only useless but immoral. The rest of us can only try to ignore them, for the most part. Unfortunately, sometimes they seem to have the loudest voices in the room. At least in this room, let's be more practical. First, some refreshers on sex overall: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8dPuuaLjXtMweg6Yx9MHP01n_yUyaf9H We had a similar discussion some time ago after "Poor Things" came out. Here's a review for that particular film, head down and check out some of the comments. They are something. https://www.paulabrackston.com/poor-things-film-review/ And if that wasn't controversial enough, here are some criticisms of sex normalizer Kinsey: https://www.opindia.com/2021/08/alfred-kinsey-reports-father-of-sexual-revolution-who-said-rape-benefits-children/ Why does sex have such a taboo around it, that we have to pretend it doesn't happen when explaining life to children (remember the stork)? As long as all parties are consenting and mentally able to consent, what is really wrong with experiencing a variety of partners and acts? We don't watch the same movie or read the same book or eat the same food all our lives. How is the function of sex so different from other experiences we have with a partner, which we might also enjoy with friends or even strangers? If there must be a morality built around sex, what should it be based on?

Well, maybe someday you'll be in our neighborhood...but we'll probably have a boring topic then!
