Hey gang, I'd like to re-invite you to a film screening at The Well, Vancouver’s newest arts event space at City Centre on Main Street. Free. Let's meet a few minutes early at 6:45pm to say hello and get settled before the screening starts. Jean Paul is a Métis artist from Vancouver Island, currently painting in East Vancouver. His work is informed by television and cinema, particularly Westerns, 70s sci-fi and Saturday morning cartoons. From the artist (Fred is his dog): “So I’m finally going to be screening my short film about going ‘plein air’ painting across the country. The first one will be Tuesday 7pm February 28th at The Well at City Centre on Main St. In Vancouver. I’ll probably do a short intro and Fred and I will do a q&a afterwords if anyone is still there but the best part is, I’ll also be screening the 3 NFB short films that inspired the whole journey as well! ‘Corral (1954), ‘Nahanni (1962) and ‘Paddle to the Sea’ (1966). My film is only 13 minutes and in my mind is a combination between ‘Easy Rider’ and ‘A Boy and His Dog’. Special thanks to @canada.council and @stevehawkinsyvr without who’s guidance and hard work this film could not have been made.” Jean Paul Langlois @thewell.studios 027-2111 Main Street (basement)
